NFL & Yahoo Email sign in, simple but effective

I cleared my cache and had to sign into my Yahoo email account again. I immediately noticed the full pic background which of course caused me to actually read the message to the left of the sign in fields.

I can honestly say in all the years of using Yahoo mail I don't think I've ever read or noticed ANY content outside of the sign in fields. Not only is this non-obtrusive as it's a background versus an ad it also allows Yahoo to push relevant content (NFL season has just started and a game had been played the night before).

Now what would make this really awesome is if Yahoo could add some location based messaging based off of IP address.
